I believe mental health is equally as important as physical health. How can the body run smoothly and take care of itself when the mind is overwhelmed?

I am currently completing my Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Walden University. It is my goal to help erase the stigma surrounding mental health while expanding counseling access to those in underserved communities. I am dedicated and strive to create a positive and "judgment-free zone" where people can share their innermost thoughts without fear of judgment or rejection.

I believe in a holistic approach to health and wellness. My goal is to meet clients where they are in body, mind, and spirit. I strongly value diversity, inclusivity, and respect . I incorporate these values into my counseling practice using an eclectic approach to therapy and draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy orientations, including Dialectic Behavioral Therapy and Mindfulness Based Therapy that allow for an emphasis on anti-oppressive and empowering strategies. In addition, I also utilized Person-Centered, Strength-Based and Solution-Focused orientations.
I am dedicated to the mental and physical well-being of the clients that allow me to serve them on their healing journey. As a 200 hour trained certified yoga instructor, I am well versed in working with young adults and women of color who contend with micro-aggressions and systems that diminish wellness.
Under the clinical supervision of Sunflower Counseling, I will utilize my professional experiences and clinical training to treat depression, anxiety, trauma, women’s issues, self esteem, life and career transitions.

My passion is to help develop, meet and maintain your goals. If you like sports, think of yourself as a player. Think of me as your teammate, cheerleader, and coach. Your goal is to get a home run. I am your teammate who helps you around the bases, your cheerleader to keep you motivated, and your coach who designs plays and leads you to the goal.

I am certified as an Accountability Partner and have helped many clients with reaching their full potential. It is a passion and a joy to see clients break out of a shell and light up when goals are met. Client goals range from couples communication, self/esteem, weight loss/gain, to anti-social issues, and beyond.

I am a husband, father, son, uncle, and friend to many. I'm also a little league basketball coach within our community. (Hence the sports references.) Not only do I have life experiences, I know how to use these experiences to help others.

I am NOT a mental health counselor. If you feel you may be depressed, experiencing grief, or any mental illness, I am happy to refer to one of my colleagues. I do assist with Confidence, Trouble in School, Defiance, Career, Motivation, Marriage/Husband, Fathering, Men's Issues, and more.

A goal without a plan is just a wish. I am the coach to help you plan, meet and hit the goal out of the park.

As an Accountability Partner, I believe that coaching is not just about setting goals and achieving them; it can also involve providing an outer perspective on any of life's troubles that may arise. My goal as a coach is to provide the support, encouragement, and accountability that people need to make lasting changes in their lives. I help my clients focus, guiding them with support and direction, challenging them to create a plan and holding them accountable, and celebrating with them when they achieve their goals.
As a coach, I take the time to get to know my clients well, observing their behavior, listening closely, and asking thought-provoking questions to help them gain clarity. I serve as a completely unbiased observer, noticing patterns and listening for any limiting beliefs that could be affecting decision-making and growth. Moreover, I believe in using an intuitive approach to accountability partnering, helping clients access the deepest parts of themselves, and gaining clarity by analyzing both their behavior and spirituality. A perspicacious comprehension allows me to guide clients to see what they often already know, and to go deeper into the source of their problems. Overall, my approach is designed to help clients achieve their full potential, find clarity and purpose, and live a life that is aligned with their values and priorities.
